Obtain Driving Licence: Goa
Every person willing to drive a motor vehicle is required to have a driving licence for the particular category of motor vehicle he intends to drive.
Two types of driving licences are issued:
•    Learner's Licence: This is a temporary licence valid for 6 months and issued to citizens, while they are in the process of learning driving of Motor Vehicles.
•    Permanent Licence: One becomes eligible for a permanent licence after expiry of one month from the date of issuing the learner's licence.

Eligibility
•    A person who has completed 18 years of age can get a licence for M/cycle and Light Motor Vehicles.
•    A person who has completed 20 years of age can get a licence to drive professional and Light Transport Vehicles such as M/Cycles, Taxis, Auto rickshaws, P/Ups, etc.
•    A person who has completed 16 years of age but below 18 years of age can get a licence for M/cycles not exceeding 50 c.c. 


Application for learner's licence
An application for the grant or renewal of a learner's licence shall be made in Form 2 and shall be accompanied by-
1.    a medical certificate in [Form 1-A]
2.    Proof of age
3.    Proof of Residence
4.    Three copies of the applicant's recent [passport size photograph],
5.     Appropriate fee
6.     In the case of an application for [transport vehicle], the driving licence held by the applicant.
7.    Consent of parent or guardian, in the case of application by minor.-In the case of an application for a learner's licence to drive a motor cycle without gear by an applicant the application shall be signed by the parent or guardian of the applicant.


Application for permanent licence
An application for the grant or renewal of a learner's licence shall be made in Form 4 and shall be accompanied by-
1.    a medical certificate in [Form 1-A]
2.    Proof of age
3.    Proof of Residence
4.    Three copies of the applicant's recent [passport size photograph],
5.     Appropriate fee

Preliminary test.-
After scrutiny of documents, the applicant would be required to take the driving test, for which he would bring his vehicle along. The applicant will be tested for his driving skills, familiarisation with the vehicle, traffic rules & regulations and can also be asked about the vehicle system and safety.
