 Uttarakhand State Council for Science and Technology (U-COST) is an autonomous organization under the administrative control of Department of Science & Technology, Government of Uttarakhand and is duly registered under Societies Registration Act, 1860. UCOST is engaged in popularizing Science & creation of scientific temper in the State. It coordinates research & development activities with various departments. 

It is proposed to appoint the Director General for Uttarakhand Council for Science & Technology, Dehradun on DEPUTAION initially for a period of 02 (Two) years through a Selection Committee constituted for the purpose. The Director General will be appointed after obtaining the approval of the competent authority based on the recommendations made by the Selection Committee. 

The applications are invited for the post of DIRECTOR GENERAL from Scientists of repute with following essential/preferential qualifications and experience:- 

ESSENTIAL : M.Sc. Ph.D. with 03 years experience in Administration/Research/Education in the pay scale of Rs. 37400-67000, Grade pay Rs. 10,000/- 

PREFERENTIAL : Candidate having 03 years of work experience in Science & Technology Council or similar institutions of Govt. of India or State Govt. will be preferred. 

AGE LIMIT: Between 45 years to 55 years at the time of applying. 

SCALE OF PAY: Pay Band-4, Rs. 37400-67000, Grade Pay Rs. 10000/-

Necessary enquires about the character and antecedents of the shortiisted candidates shall be conducted as per established procedure. Shortfisted candidates shall be invited for interview. 

NOTE: Present regular and full time Director General is a deputation to a Central Government Organization. The tenure of the appointee will be terminated if the permanent Director General joins back due to unavoidable circumstances.
